How to use your intuition in your career
And how to find fulfilment beyond corporate success with intuition
Are You Ignoring Your Intuition? This Podcast Could Change Everything. In our fast-paced, achievement-oriented world, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the rat race and ignore the quiet voice of our intuition. But as Liz Roberta and Zoe Haydn Jones discuss in their recent Women, Work & Wellbeing podcast episode, tapping into that inner wisdom could be the key to finding true fulfillment – both personally and professionally. Liz Roberta’s Winding Career Journey Liz Roberta’s own career path is a testament to the power of intuition. After initially studying economics and landing a prestigious role in investment banking, Liz found herself plagued by anxiety and physical health issues. “I honestly feel like I had no choice,” Liz shared. “And I did, objectively, have a choice, but internally, it was so awful. I felt like I was being squeezed out.” Despite her outward success, Liz knew deep down that the corporate world was not her true calling. As she explained, “I was miserable inside, and I was really, really, really suffering. So that was the thing that I had never paid attention to. And there’s so much more to success than the outward markers to other people.” The Transformative Power of Intuition Liz’s story is a powerful reminder that our intuition is often trying to guide us, even when it doesn’t align with societal expectations or the “logical” choice. As host Zoe Haydn Jones noted, “Sometimes just hearing a story like yours, where I loved it, when you said, like, your the family or your boyfriend’s family saying, like, is she flaky? Like that feeling of, I’m doing it, I’m doing it, but actually, after six months, I’m it’s not feeling bright. I think there’s loads of people that can relate to that.” For Liz, it was her boss’s recommendation of personal development books that first opened her eyes to the possibility of trusting her intuition. As she explained, “That was all I needed to think bigger to look outside the box. And that was what he allowed me to do.” Practical Tips for Tapping Into Your Intuition Throughout the conversation, both Liz and Zoe offered valuable insights on how women can cultivate a deeper connection with their intuition: “It’s about what you’re doing within your mind as well. Instead of allowing your mind to race, race, race. Think, think, think I’ve got to do this. I’ve got to do that. Can you hold it in more of a mindful, meditative state?” – Liz Roberta “Even though I’m a yoga teacher, I do it. I’m guilty of it, of right? I’m just going to walk to school to pick the kids up, I’ll put my air pods in, and I’ll find something, and I’m scrambling around. But just having those moments in your day to walk, it just made me feel like peaceful and calm.” – Zoe Haydn Jones Whether you’re feeling stuck in a unfulfilling career or simply seeking more alignment in your life, this podcast episode is a must-listen. As Liz so eloquently put it, “If you want extraordinary results, then you have to start doing things differently.” So tune in, and start honoring the wisdom that lives within you.
