Strategic and Commercial Business Lead

Full Job Description

Admiral Pioneer continues to grow and as a result we are looking for a Business Lead to join our new business venture, Admiral Pioneer Connect. As a proposition visionary, you will understand and be excited by the opportunity that network and ecosystem play and can present to established players. As a founder of the business, you will have led business development and relationship management teams (enabled by technology) and will know how to identify and establish win-win partnerships. You will be used to engaging senior business leaders and building compelling business cases to support our establishment and growth.

Admiral Pioneer is a new entity within Admiral Group with the objective of seeding, launching, and scaling new businesses in areas of increasing societal importance. We are focusing on three significant domains:

Admiral Pioneer Connect

Customer demands are changing and as we begin to live more subscription- based lifestyles we want more personalized and simple buying experiences. At Pioneer, we believe that networks and ecosystem models are a key disruptor to traditional business models. AP Connect is the project name for a new business within Admiral Pioneer built to exploit the immediate and arising opportunities for embedded insurance. We have already identified several potential customers who want to embed our leading products within their propositions and by working with these partnerships we want to place Admiral Pioneer and Admiral Group at the leading edge of embedded insurance and finance. We are looking for an innovative and ambitions leadership team to start and accelerate our journey.

Responsibilities

As Business Lead you will:

  • Work closely with senior management in Admiral Pioneer.
  • Be responsible for all business initiatives linking Admiral Pioneer’s products to its Connect business partners.
  • Lead the Connect team reporting to Admiral Pioneer management.
  • Oversee processes to provide embedded our solutions to partners and ecosystems.
  • Lead the planning and expense oversight for Admiral Pioneer Connect.
  • Lead the reporting on weekly performance for the senior management team.

Strategy:
Actively search for and work with external businesses that would benefit from Admiral Pioneer’s insurance products being embedded in their customer journeys. Develop a strategy to market the embedded insurance products (such as temporary car insurance) to businesses that need insurance in their customer journeys.

Delivery:
Design and develop innovative technology solutions to enable the smooth flow of data from Admiral Pioneer’s businesses to and from the business partner. Using the capability of Admiral Pioneer’s businesses, the Connect business should be able to write insurance policies on behalf of their businesses.

Collaboration:
Work with Admiral Pioneer’s businesses to improve technology solutions and processes to ensure the smooth handover of policies from Connect businesses.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven track record of developing B2B companies, not necessarily in the insurance sector but helpful if the candidate has insurance expertise.
  • Experience of building network or ecosystem partnerships
  • Proven track record of working with multiple businesses as a partner.
  • Experience of working with technology and ability to deliver API solutions for clients.
  • Previous experience of being a CEO or building a start-up.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.

All colleagues will receive 33 days holiday (including banks holidays) when they join us, and this will increase with length of service, up to a maximum of 38 days (including banks holidays). You also have the option to buy or sell up to five days of annual leave in addition to your allocation.
